The museum aviation reference library, named after the first curator, has an extensive collection of books, periodicals, aircraft maintenance manuals, films, videos and photographs. The library is continuously being expanded through donations and acquisitions.
In addition to the traditional library resources, the Dr. Ira E. Chart Research Library includes state of the art computer facilities. Current capabilities include:
The Dr. Ira E. Chart Research Library is available for researchers, historians, and authors, as well as for those who simply want to refresh their memory about the history and technical aspects of aircraft and aviation in general. Eventually the Western Museum of Flight plans to become an important Southern California source for serious Aviation researchers and historians.
